Fit Friday #8

So I have missed a few Fridays posting my progress, but I didn't weigh until this past Friday and to my surprise, I have lost 5 pounds since Nov. 15th! That means I have lost 10 pounds total! Yeah! I also tried on some of my favorite jeans from The Gap that I haven't been able to wear since I had my son in 2006, and they fit perfectly.

It hasn't been my diet that is one thing I know for sure. I have done pretty well at staying active though. I am consistently doing the Firm videos at home at least 2x/wk sometimes more, and pilates at least once a week. I guess it is paying off. I was just hoping that I would be able to maintain the weight that I had lost over the Thanksgiving Holiday (especially since we had 4 different Thanksgiving dinners between our families and church).

This coming week will be very hectic and I am hoping that I will be able to do The Firm 2x. We are having some family come in from Texas for the weekend, so I am sure I won't get my workout in because of that. We will also be having two Christmas parties to go to, as well as my sister's birthday celebration. Maybe I will just try and crunch my workouts in early in the week. I will try and make a post on Friday, but won't make any promises.

Check out my lil baby, Addison, she got posted on this blog for Coco Bonbons boutique!

Santa Baby

Grace

Hayden did the cutest thing ever before dinner the other night. We try to sit down at the table every night together to eat dinner, and we say Grace before we start eating. Well, I guess hubby and I were really hungry and began eating without praying first. Hayden, very sternly, told us "Say, Grace!" I can't tell you the sense of pride I felt when he said that. I felt that I have really taught him something good! Yeah, Hayden!

Fit Friday #4

This week flew by! At the beginning of the week I was focused. As the week went by my motivation dwindled. I did pretty well with my diet, except for Thursday, where I just had little snacks here and there with no actual solid meal. I did awesome with my workouts. I decided that I would do The Firm 4 times this week rather than 3 times. I am proud to say that I accomplished that! I didn't, however, do Pilates 3 times rather than 2 times, which was my goal. I actually didn't do any Pilates, shame on me!

I guess the hard work is paying off though, I was down another pound this week, and lost .5 inches off my waist. So, that is 5 pounds in 4 weeks! I can definitely feel the difference in my body. Others may not see it yet, though. I am 5'11", so 5 pounds doesn't look like much on me.

My goals for next week are...
  • to keep a food journal
  • to have quiet time
  • to do the Red Firm video (think kickboxing boot camp!)
  • to do Pilates at least once

Wish me luck this next week!

Fit Friday #3

I missed posting last week, but I have good news to report! I have lost 4lbs. in 3 weeks, 2% body fat (according to my scale, so who knows if it's right!), and 2 inches off my waist! I have been doing the Firm workout 3 times a week, and trying to do Winsor Pilates 2 times a week. I am following a new diet plan, The G.I. Diet , which cuts out white flour and sugar. I have done pretty well following the plan, except for a few pieces of halloween candy here and there! I don't know about you, but chocolate is my weakness!!! My goal for the following week is to be more strict with my diet and water intake, and do pilates 3 times per week. Until next week...

Hot Mama

I am new to the blogging world, and have come across "It's Almost Naptime" . I really enjoy reading blogs of other mothers, makes me feel less crazy! Anyway back to my point. My husband and I decided to get SERIOUS with our diet and exercise; aka, "Battle of the Bulge"! I was reading different blogs and found this one that is having Fit Friday/ Hot for the Holidays. I am all about this. I'm in! I will probably post just for my benefit, but you're welcome to read my blog if you want, sorry if it bores you!

I am not posting my weight, I just had a baby, okay! (7 months ago) I will tell you though that I would like to lose at least 25lbs and my muffin top. Here are some pics.
What I would like to look like again (I'm on the left) 7/19/03. My sister Jana's wedding day.
I had finally started losing weight, thanks to weight watchers and exercise, when we found out I was pregnant with Addy (I am about 6weeks along in this pic)
37 weeks pregnant with Addy
My hubby and me 10/4/08. Almost back to my 2nd pre-pregnancy weight. I still had alot to lose from my first baby when I got pregnant with Addy!

Until next time...

Growing Up

I've been thinking about writing for awhile, but you know how it goes, busyness gets in the way... Since my first post, both of my babies have hit milestones. My son, Hayden, has improved on potty training. He did really well for about a week, and not so well last week! I think that he figured out that he didn't really need his Mommy to go pee pee like a "big" boy, and decided that he wasn't quite ready anymore. Bummer.

My daughter, Addison, started sleeping through the night at 3 months old. Another big step. Unfortunately, this hasn't continued. She is still in the pack n play in our bedroom because Hayden is still sleeping in his crib. My husband, Lloyd, has to get up very early for work during the week and I think that his alarms (VERY LOUD alarms) are waking her up because she slept thought the night on Friday and Saturday. Oh well, hopefully Hayden will transition soon to his "big" boy cars bed.

We had a great 4th of July at my parent's house. We had dinner and I took a delicious dessert,
Sopapilla Cheesecake, that I found on the LPM Blog. My brother-in-law, Matt, said it changed his world forever! Hayden went swimming in the pool and had a great time, he has been hesitant about the water before. Then, we watched the fireworks show on TV from downtown Nashville. I feel so fortunate and blessed to live in a free country, even when the gas and food prices are skyrocketing! Here are some pictures of us from the weekend.

Here we go!

I've never done this before, but it seems like a new trend. I am just a wife and mother of two kids, Hayden and Addison, trying to balance it all. I think this will be a good outlet for me since I have just made the transition from full-time working mom to stay-at-home mom. I have been married to my wonderful husband, Lloyd, for 3 years now. We just made a new addition to our home with our beautiful baby girl, Addison "Addy", almost 3 months old. Our son Hayden is two and a half. I just started back at work two nights a week, and Lloyd is staying home with the kids, so we don't have to pay an arm and a leg for daycare! This has been challenging for both of us, but I hope that it works out. I am truly learning the meaning of patience. Hayden is really good at testing it. I give props to all of you stay-at-home moms, this is really a hard job! Here are some pics of my family...
