Gettin' Fine in '09: Week 2

This week has been LONG. But, I have maintained my focus and worked out 5 days this week. I did the Wave 3 times, and did cardio 2 times. My hubby and I decided to join the YMCA. We got signed up on Tuesday night, and worked out Thursday night and this morning (Saturday). I am going to try and stick to my Wave workouts at home, and do cardio (treadmill, elliptical, random cardio machines) at the Y.

So Thursday night, in addition to the cardio, I decided that I would do some leg exercises while I waited for hubby to finish his workout. I chose the leg press machine, and was trying to figure out how much weight I would be able to do. I remembered that when I had worked out with a personal trainer I had been able to lift ALOT of weight. I turned the dial to 175#, it wasn't too difficult, so I turned it to 200#, it was more challenging. Then, my hubby walks up and says he thinks I could do more, so I turned the dial to 220#. BIG mistake! I finished all the reps, but I am paying for it now!!! My hamstrings are so tight that I can barely walk. So, please learn from my story and don't push yourself too hard when you are trying different exercises.

Back to the purpose of this post, Gettin' Fine in '09...

I haven't done so well with keeping track of what I am eating, or why I am eating. But, I have done well with the workouts as I said in the beginning of this post. So without further ado, I lost 2 pounds this week! Yeah! I am hoping that since I am adding cardio to the wave workouts that I will have another loss next week. So how did everyone else do? Good luck to you all next week!

You are doing GREAT!!! Don't push yourself too hard, as you have probably learned. I have the mentality that if I'm not sore then I didn't work out hard enough. This is not always true. Lower weight, more reps is always good. If you do go heavier then only do 6-8 reps and then lower the weight again.
You're doing awesome and I hope the soreness goes away soon!
